The brand blends cottage cheese with milk, cane sugar, and a collagen-rich protein blend, delivering 39–44 grams of protein per pint depending on flavor. The result is a creamy frozen dessert that bridges the gap between indulgence and high-protein nutrition.

To bring this novel concept to market, the founders partnered with SkyBites Consulting to support formulation strategy and commercialization.

Following the launch, Smearcase quickly gained traction in the market.


The brand secured placement in Sprouts Farmers Market locations across Florida, marking a major retail milestone for the emerging frozen dessert brand.

Additional distribution milestones included:

  • Availability through GoPuff delivery in New York City

  • Strong performance at Pop Up Grocer, where the product became the number one selling item in the freezer category during the Summer 2024 rotation

  • Invitation to return for the Fall 2024 Pop Up Grocer rotation

These early wins demonstrated strong consumer interest in the brand’s unique take on high-protein frozen desserts.



Industry Recognition

Smearcase’s innovative approach to frozen dessert also gained attention within the food and beverage industry.

The company was selected to participate in the Real California Milk Excelerator, a highly competitive accelerator program powered by VentureFuel and supported by the California Milk Advisory Board. The program provides mentorship, resources, and industry connections to help scale promising dairy-based innovations.

The brand also received press coverage highlighting its unique concept and rapid growth.
